The 2008 girls team turned some heads this year. Posting a 13-6-4 record and making it to the playofffs for the 1st time in school history made for an exiting year. A returning class of hungry athletes mixed with an exceptionally talented group of newcomers was a perfect combination of success. The addition of assistant coach Jaime Camargo added final ingredient for the teams sudden rise to the top of the division 2 standing being seeded #2 in the playoffs. Our team was presented well at the all-league meeting with 4 girls making the 1st team, 4 making the 2nd team and two making honorable mention. They are: Alyssa Mejia, Stephanie Agavo, Addy Martinez, and Michelle Clark made the 1st team--- Reene Barbosa, Lyndsay Garner, and Courtney Huebert made the 2nd team --- Desarae Jimenez, and Maria Ceja were honorable mention. There is a grat expectations going into next year with an added incentive to work on the off-season with assistant coach Carlos Zavala emphasizing conditioning and ball handling skills. Head coach Stan Kanawyer and his staff told the team at the recent soccer banquet that We Will Get Better !!!
