| Computer Graphics Design is a 2 semester course that develops knowledge, skills and experiences needed to create digital art using the computer. This course is an introduction to computer graphics and the study of the principles that govern visual communication. Skills and techniques in computer imaging and layout are explored through hands-on graphic design exercises that include making a webpage and your own designs, and projects with the computer. Students create art though the use of graphic applications and concept development, using the computer to create page layouts, picturial images, create webpages, alter real-life photos, and create digital design. Some programs used by the students include: Adobe Photoshop (for altering real-life photos), Adobe Illustrator ( for making digital art), Abobe Golive (for making websites), Adobe InDesign, and Macromedia Flash. The skills learned in this course will be useful for a lifetime. |

Computer Graphic Design is a class that develops knowledge, skills and experiences in digital art.
OBJECTIVES:
• Use the elements of design; line, shape, value, form, texture, space, color and the principles of design; balance, contrast, variety, emphasis, repetition to produce well designed compositions.
• Acquire basic skills, use of equipment and software utilized in the advertising and digital career field.
• Develop skills in use of computer programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, GoLive and Macromedia Flash.
• Research careers in advertising and digital media.
RULES
1. No food or drinks allowed in the classroom at any time. Gum or candy maybe eaten as long as it is not seen or heard and stays in your mouth.
2. Be in your seat and ready to work when the tardy bell rings.
3. Do not disruptive to the learning process.
4. Respect others and their property.
5. Obscene language is not permitted.
6. The following are not permitted on any projects; anything related to or showing nudity, suggestive dress, pornography, profanity, alcohol, cigarettes, gangs, drugs, violence, guns, explosives or illegal acts.
7. Use of the Internet is restricted to school appropriate materials. No inappropriate materials, down loading, or games, as stated in the Internet agreement.
8. The computer that you are assigned is your responsibility. You will be charged for any broken or damaged parts.
9. No burnt CDs or DVDs, Cell phones, IPODs, headphones or CD players, if I hear it or see it I will take it away.
GRADING
A=Maximum effort and creativity
B=Extra effort and some creativity
C=Project was completed as assigned
D=Assignment was done with little effort, messy, with little thought
F=Incomplete assignment
All assignments will be turned in on the due date or may result in late work penalty.
